Apply for a pensioner rates rebate
Your application for a pensioner rates rebate can be done in person at any of our Customer Service Centres.

You will need to:

  1. download and complete an application form from the Department of Families Fairness and Housing website
  2. visit one of our Customer Service Centres
  3. bring your pension card for verification purposes.

Our Customer Service Team will forward your completed application to our Property & Valuations Department for processing.

Alternatively you may email a copy of the hand-signed completed form to COGGRecords@geelongcity.vic.gov.au or post to:

If the application is:

  • approved - you will receive an updated rates notice showing what rebate has been applied for the current financial year
  • not approved - you will receive a letter advising this decision.
  • No. To provide a discount to certain ratepayers all other ratepayers will have to fund the discount.  The pensioner rebate provided to our ratepayers is funded by the State Government.
