Sometimes during the design and documentation of plans for construction of a building the building regulations are amended.
This could mean that some aspects of the design may need to change to comply with the new or amended regulations.
However if this has occurred and substantial progress on the design and documentation has taken place an application can be made to the relevant building surveyor to certify that the new or amended regulations do not apply to the proposed building work.
