Greater Geelong residents are encouraged to have their say on potential investments and priorities to achieve Our Community Plan ahead of the development of Council’s next annual budget.
Feedback is being sought on the specific projects the community would like us to focus on as we work towards making Greater Geelong a clever and creative region.
The Have Your Say engagement has been extended to 31 December as part of the Council’s preparations for the 2022-23 Draft Budget.
Council has recently adopted key strategic longer-term plans that together outline how it intends to deliver critical services infrastructure and facilities in coming years.
These include Our Community Plan 2021-25 the 2021-22 to 2024-25 Budget and the ten-year Long-term Financial Plan which will help guide our resources and finances.
Greater Geelong Mayor Stephanie Asher said feedback from the public would help the Council consider whether particular projects championed by the community aligned with its strategic priorities.
“I encourage residents and local groups to submit their ideas so they can be considered for support in our upcoming budget ” the Mayor said.
“While our four-year budget outlined how a lot of community-focused projects will be funded during this Council term we’re keen to evaluate any new community-led initiatives.”
Submitters are asked to detail the project scope any known funding costs and the wider community benefit.
All ideas will be provided to Council as part of the development of the 2022-23 Draft Budget.
