Four clever and creative organisations are conducting clean technology demonstrations in our region this year thanks to support from the City of Greater Geelong the Victorian Government and the Geelong Manufacturing Council.

Clean technologies are economically viable products services and processes that harness renewable materials and energy sources dramatically reduce use of natural resources and decrease or eliminate emissions and wastes.

The demonstration projects are supported by Cleantech Innovations Geelong a business and industry program designed to attract investment in clean technologies and position Geelong as a clean technology centre for excellence.

Cleantech Innovations Geelong is funded by the City of Greater Geelong the Victorian Government and the Geelong Manufacturing Council. The program will support the four successful organisations with advice on grant funding grant applications locations investment planning community engagement and intellectual property.

Each organisation will have access to the program’s extensive stakeholder and supply chain networks as well to help bring the clean technology demonstration projects from concept to reality.

The demonstration projects are scheduled to run until October 2021.

This is an exciting opportunity to promote and support clever and creative problem-solving in our region. These four projects demonstrate the reputation for innovation agility and design thinking that earned Geelong’s global recognition as a UNESCO City of Design.
The clean technology demonstration projects will investigate new ways for us to do more with less and help us achieve the goals outlined in our Sustainability Framework and Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy.
The industry networks expertise and funding support provided by Cleantech Innovations Geelong are critical to bringing these projects to life. We look forward to watching the clean technology demonstration projects as they progress.
We were delighted by the response to the Expression of Interest process for the clean technology demonstration projects. The four successful projects will tackle a range of local challenges with sustainable responses that can be replicated for broader markets across Australia and internationally.
