Greater Geelong residents have a unique opportunity to learn key tips on meal planning and preparation free of charge as part of the City of Greater Geelong’s Eat Well Live Well campaign.

Degree-qualified nutritionist Mel Bald also known as The Passionate Nutritionist will appear at three complimentary events in Waurn Ponds Corio and Leopold to host her series of in-person meal planning sessions aimed at saving time money and stress.
The initiative is presented by the City in partnership with Geelong Regional Library Corporation.

Former Geelong Mayor Stephanie Asher applauded the initiative.

We all understand the benefits of healthy eating however our busy modern lifestyles sometimes emerge as obstacles to looking after ourselves as well as we should.

These meal-planning workshops have the potential to take a lot of the stress out of the planning and preparation of meals.

The sessions will cover:

  • How meal planning can change your life
  • The easy way to plan your weekly meals
  • What a recipe bank is and how to create one
  • Apps to make meal preparation easier and
  • The best things to have on hand to make last minute healthy meals.

Geelong residents will benefit from the opportunity to learn from someone like Ms Bald.

Food brings families and friends together it’s not just about nourishment but equally about enjoyment and social connection.

Mel Bald is known for her passion for nutrition and meal planning and it’s hoped that members of our community will take the opportunity to learn from the knowledge and enthusiasm that she is prepared to share.

Residents are invited to join any of the following three sessions:

  • Waurn Ponds Library – Wednesday 15 June

  • Corio Library – Thursday 16 June

  • Leopold Library – Friday 17 June

The initiative aims to help ‘increase healthy eating’ in the Greater Geelong community – a health and wellbeing priority for the City.

While the events are presented free of charge bookings are required.
