Council is always looking at ways to maximise efficiencies improve safety reduce our environmental footprint and provide value for money.

Using the Spider Slope Mower is one of the ways we can improve employee safety and reduce work costs time and our impact on the environment. Requiring only one operator the remote-controlled mower performs the required steep slope work faster and safer than traditional means and with less people. It allows us to mow steep grass embankments and roadsides safely and quickly.

We have also been one of the first councils in Australia to secure fully electric commercial ride-on mowers which can charge while in use via a solar panel canopy. Along with electric vans and passenger vehicles we are transitioning towards having a light fleet that achieves net zero emissions by 2027.
