We know that many residents have been impacted and suffered property damage or had trees or branches fall on their properties during the recent storm.

The clean-up continues to be a big job. Our crews have been inundated with more than 420 requests for help with fallen trees or branches which will take them several weeks to properly respond to.

To help residents quickly clean up around their properties we are waiving fees for residents dropping off fallen trees and branches at our Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre.

Only trees and branches will be accepted free of charge.

We ask that Bellarine Peninsula residents bring their proof of residence to receive our subsidised service.

The storm-damaged timber can be dropped off in domestic-sized trailers from Wednesday 3 November until Sunday 14 November.

For those unable to take fallen trees and branches from their properties to the Drysdale facility we are still here to help clear the material.

If you have not done so already pleaseĀ lodge a request for service before Sunday 14 November.

Trees and branches must be publicly accessible as our crews will not be going onto private property.

Please stack material neatly on your nature strip and ensure that there is still access for pedestrians to pass by.

While we will attend to all requests because of the large volume of work it may take up to a month for all trees and branches to be removed.

Greater Geelong Mayor Stephanie Asher

We understand this has been a challenging and distressing period for many residents. Hopefully this free drop-off initiative makes the clean-up that little bit easier. We thank the community for showing patience while City crews work through an extremely high number of requests for service as quickly as possible.
