The City of Greater Geelong will engage directly with key stakeholders and the wider public as it begins a study into the community services and facilities required by the Portarlington community.
Council dedicated funding to a study in the 2021-22 budget to investigate the community facilities and services required to address the needs of the current and future Portarlington community.
Deputy Mayor Trent Sullivan
The consultation will gather important data and insights into the community’s current and future needs.
Over the next six months the study will investigate the options for facilities services and programs in Portarlington.
We want to hear from as many people as possible about the future needs of the area.
The smaller townships across the Bellarine Peninsula form an important part of our municipality and we want to make sure everyone in our region has equal access to the services they need.
Bellarine Ward Councillor Jim Mason
A Have your Say Page has been launched and stakeholder workshops will be held along with consultation with the wider community.
All feedback received from the consultation will be taken into account and used to assist in planning for the future.
We want to identify existing services and recognise future demand so we make the right investments when and where they are needed most.
Once we understand the options the study will provide valuable information for future funding consideration.
