With peaceful lawns surrounded by breathtaking gardens it’s the perfect space for small low-key ceremonies including weddings and naming ceremonies.

Weddings and commitment ceremonies
Whether you are planning an intimate occasion or want to invite your 150 closest friends and family there are a range of areas to suit most ceremonies and low fees that are guaranteed to suit every budget.
Your booking will give you exclusive access to your preferred area for two hours allowing plenty of time to set-up and pack-up. You can also take photos anywhere you like in the gardens.
Once the ceremony is over and the photos are done there are plenty of places in nearby Central Geelong to host your post-ceremony celebration.

Other special occasions
If you’re planning a small low-impact event the Geelong Botanic Gardens is the perfect outdoor venue.
While bookings are required if you wish to reserve a particular lawn area group picnics and family gatherings (without furniture) are welcome any time.
Unfortunately we don’t host birthday parties at Geelong Botanic Gardens unless the party is for young children.

Geelong Botanic Gardens is close to the Geelong Waterfront within Eastern Park. Please see our visitor map. The gardens are within walking distance of Geelong train station. Take a stroll along the watefront. If using GPS the gardens entrance is at the intersection of Podbury Drive and Eastern Park Circuit

A booking is not required for taking special occasion photos (for example: wedding debutante family) in the gardens. However if you want to take commercial photography you require a permit. Information can be found on our filming in Geelong page.
