Family Day Care
Our Award-winning Family Day Care Service is a home-based education and care service for six weeks of age to 12 year olds.

Family Day Care is available for children in the safety checked homes of highly professional and qualified Educators. All Educators are supported by a coordination team situated within the City of Greater Geelong Family Services Team.

Educators provide children with an individual program that supports their educational emotional physical and social development in a small group environment.

Vacancies

Dependant on vacancies Family Day Care can be provided for non standard hours of care that is: evenings overnights some weekends for work related purposes only. 

Kindergarten/school pick up and drop off may be available dependent on vacancies and the availability of car seat restraint space.

Family Day Care fees

Fees for our service range per hour per child from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm depending on the individual educator.

Outside of these core hours and on public holidays the fee ranges includes an extra $2 per child per hour. This fee is decided upon by the individual Educator in consultation with the Coordination Unit.

Child Care Subsidy applies in Family Day Care.

Our Family Day Care service is:  

  • rated and assessed at an Meeting Standard by the Department of Education and Training
  • approved by the Australian Government
  • regulated by Education and Care Services National Regulations & Law Act 2010 and The National Quality Standards
  • licensed by the State Government.
  • We were recently named the 2019 Family day care Australia National Service of the Year

FDC Educators

The FDC Educators operate under a service agreement with the City of Greater Geelong.

Under the Childrens Services regulations FDC Educators are able to provide care for up to four children not attending school and three children attending school for a maximum of seven children; including the FDC Educators own children.

Priority access to FDC is given to children within the perimeters set by the Government.
