Geelong Saleyards
We continue to work with representatives of the livestock transport industry to determine the future of the facility’s truck wash. The truck wash will remain open until the Saleyards Precinct Structure Plan is complete.
About the Geelong Saleyards
The early Geelong Town Corporation bought land for the saleyards in 1867 and opened the facility in 1869. It operated as a livestock exchange until August 2017.

At the December 2016 Ordinary Meeting of Council our Administrators resolved to work with the G21 group of councils, the G21 Agribusiness Forum and other agriculture peak bodies to establish an agribusiness strategy for the region.
