Wadawurrung Country is part of the On the Land exhibition on display at the National Wool Museum.
‘Wadawurrung Country’ is a significant new installation in recognition of the importance of the Wadawurrung Peoples the Traditional Owners of the Geelong region. Created by Wadawurrung Elder Uncle Bryon Powell Wadawurrung artist Dr Deanne Gilson and Wadawurrung woman Corrina Eccles Wadawurrung Country includes stories from Traditional Owners traditional language and artistic motifs. Developed through extensive consultation and collaboration the installation recognises the Wadawurrung Peoples their culture and traditions and the impact of agricultural practice and the wool industry on their land.
