Help for people from non-English speaking backgrounds
The Geelong region is increasingly multicultural; home to people from many countries, cultures and backgrounds.
It can be difficult for people from non-English speaking backgrounds to find out about council services. We want to reduce the barriers to information and make our programs and services accessible to everyone.
We have a free phone interpreting service for people who need help to find out about our services. Instructions about how to use the free service are available in 20 languages.
So if you know someone who needs language help for City of Greater Geelong services please point them to the other languages section of our website.
Multicultural Action Plan
The Multicultural Action Plan (MAP) 2018-2022 continues to provide strategic direction and guidance to Council to think, plan and deliver inclusively in response to the diverse needs of our increasing culturally diverse population.
Volunteering for multicultural communities
Volunteering is a great way for people from multicultural and newly arrived communities to become involved in local life.
