Public questions and submissions will be read aloud by Mayor Stephanie Asher and answered at tonight’s City of Greater Geelong Council meeting to ensure transparency.

Public questions submitted in accordance with the City’s timeframe will be read aloud and then answered during the live stream of the meeting.

Public questions must be submitted before noon on the day of the Council meeting and are published on our website.

Councillors want to hear from community members to engage on important matters to contribute to informed decision-making in the Chamber.

An allocation of 45 minutes is made for Public Question and Submission Time so there is appropriate time for Councillors to consider the agenda items.

For more information visit our public submissions page.

Councillor Stephanie Asher - Mayor

The current lockdown in regional Victoria means we can’t have our normal public gallery attendance but there are still plenty of ways to have your say.

As part of Council’s commitment to good governance and in response to the need to hold another fully virtual meeting we’re providing greater opportunities for community members to engage during meetings.

A full transcript of all the questions and answers will be published on our public questions and submissions page prior to the Council meeting.

Public question time is a legislative requirement because it’s a key way for community members to engage with Council prior to a decision being made.
