About Councillor Moloney
Describe yourself
I’m a university lecturer, IT professional, musician and avid gardener.
While my work has gravitated towards building technology solutions, tertiary teaching and improving student employment outcomes, I’m a keen environmentalist and passionate about making headway on climate action within council.
Why did you run for council?
I ran for council to raise awareness about the significant and urgent climate emergency we are living in, and I believe I can help guide council’s initiatives as we work towards zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Top three areas of focus during your term
- Sustainability Framework implementation
- Fostering increased community engagement
- Implementing council-led initiatives to significantly reduce Geelong’s carbon emissions.
What does a ‘clever and creative’ Geelong region mean to you?
Geelong’s clever and creative minds converging to improve our vibrant city through innovation, great design, and sustainable future-proofing.
Favourite thing about Greater Geelong?
Geelong has big city amenities with country town feel and an incredible natural environment, but my favourite thing about Geelong is the Barwon River.
