September is Biodiversity Month and it’s a great time to connect with nature and care for our plants animals and places.

The City’s Environment team manages more than 100 nature reserves across Greater Geelong covering more than 1400 hectares of land.

Their work is invaluable in helping to preserve and enhance the natural values of the region.

Our team joined Trust for Nature last week to assess the wildflower and orchid species emerging in the Anakie and Brisbane Ranges area.

Together we are constantly striving to make gains in biodiversity while reducing the impacts of weeds pest animals and human impacts.

You can celebrate Biodiversity Month by experiencing the wonderful variety of wildflowers orchids and shrubs that are now flowering in your local area.
