The City Hall excursion for students in years 7 and 8 will assist students to understand:

• The roles and responsibilities of the three levels of government.
• Purpose of the Constitution in Australia’s representative democracy.
• Freedoms that enable active participation in democracy.
• Ways in which they can be active and informed citizens and take action in different contexts.
• Local government’s role in making decisions planning and enforcing local laws.
