Excursion to City Hall - Years 9-10
The excursion to City Hall is designed to meet the aims of the Victorian curriculum, Civics and Citizenship.

The City Hall excursion for students in years 9 and 10 will assist students to understand:

  • The roles and responsibilities of the three levels of government.
  • Role of political parties and independent representatives in Australia’s system of government.
  • Process for shaping and developing policy.
  • Influence of the media including social media in shaping citizens’ political choices.
  • Roles and responsibilities of government at an international level.
  • Role of the courts in particular in relation to review of administrative decisions.
  • Role groups play in civic life.
