Excursion to City Hall - Years 9-10
The excursion to City Hall is designed to meet the aims of the Victorian curriculum, Civics and Citizenship.
The City Hall excursion for students in years 9 and 10 will assist students to understand:
- The roles and responsibilities of the three levels of government.
- Role of political parties and independent representatives in Australia’s system of government.
- Process for shaping and developing policy.
- Influence of the media including social media in shaping citizens’ political choices.
- Roles and responsibilities of government at an international level.
- Role of the courts in particular in relation to review of administrative decisions.
- Role groups play in civic life.
