Ball Pit is a vibrant and optically charged mural that consists of two intersecting layers that vibrate against each other.
Waving organic lines of orange and red are cut through with stripes of purple. This hard-edge linear design is then punctuated with perfect circles that flicker and vibrate.
As pedestrians walk through the tunnel the slight height undulations caused by their gait will enhance the optical vibrations and create a sense of movement.
The work is designed to engage the body and the senses stimulating a feeling of movement depth and space. The circular shapes of different sizes are designed to simulate the feeling of being inside a ball pit or a storm of confetti.
A graduate of the Victorian College of Arts Ebony completed her Honours year under Jill Orr at Federation University.
Ebonys work incorporates painting drawing installation photography and digital collage exploring the mysteries of consciousness and complexities of perception.
She has been exhibited in Melbourne Sydney and Ballarat and her public works have included large scale murals for Lost Ones Makers Studio Melbourne University and Ballarat City Council.
