Permanent stallholders at Belmont Market
Stallholders who wish to apply to become a permanent stallholder may contact the Belmont Market and enquire, however they are subject to meeting certain requirements.
Permanent Stallholder Requirements
The Belmont Market is committed to operating at a very high standard in aligned with legislation and also meeting best practices. Existing and potential permanent stallholders are closely monitored and are subject to adhering to certain requirements as determined by the Belmont Market management team. Failure to meet the below requirements may be in breach of the Belmont Market Terms and Conditions and may disqualify the stallholder as a permanent stallholder and their sites cancelled immediately:
- Permanent stallholders must contact via email to belmontmarket@geelongcity.vic.gov.au if they are unable to attend any specific market date prior to 4:00pm on the Friday prior to the upcoming market date. Late notification will not be accepted by the Belmont Market and will contribute to the permanent stallholder being recorded as non-attended
- Permanent stallholders must attend a minimum of three market days in every calendar month. For example a permanent stallholder who fails to attend the Belmont Market consecutively over two weeks has breached the Belmont Market Terms and Conditions.
- Permanent stallholders will be determined as absent at 8:00am on each market day particularly if no prior contact via email has been made. The non-attended sites may be made available for re-booking/allocation from 8:00am on each market day. Late notification will not be accepted by the Belmont Market and will contribute to the permanent stallholder being recorded as non-attended
- Permanent stallholders must arrive after 5:00am for set-up and complete pack up and be vacated from the Belmont Market site by 2:30pm on each market day. Permanent stallholders must only park and operate from their allocated sites (includes vehicles). Alternatively permanent stallholders may park their vehicle outside of the Belmont Market operating areas (but not impede or block building entrance ways or park in no-parking areas). There is to be strictly no vehicle movement in the Belmont Market designated market site between 8:00am and 1:00pm on each market day.
- All stallholders are strictly not permitted to trade prior to 8:00am and after 1:00pm on each market day.
- Each stallholder acknowledges that inclement weather is a risk inherently associated with an outdoor Market as clarified in the Belmont Market Terms and Conditions. Site fees will not be refunded if weather and other disruptions interfere with any market. Notification of non-attendance due to weather and other disruptions will not be accepted by the Belmont Market and will contribute to the permanent stallholder being recorded as non-attended
- Payment for sites and equipment to be completed at the office between 7:30am to 12:00pm on each market day. Late payments will not be accepted by the Belmont Market and will be in breach of the Belmont Market Terms and Conditions.
- Permanent stallholders with equipment attached/booked with their weekly sites must accept and make payment for this equipment on the market day. Permanent stallholders must contact via email to belmontmarket@geelongcity.vic.gov.au to make changes and arrangements to their equipment needs prior to 4:00pm on the Friday prior to the upcoming market date. Failure to make contact with the Belmont Market via email and refusal to accept equipment and complete payment on the market day will not be accepted by the Belmont Market and will be in breach of the Belmont Market Terms and Conditions.
- To avoid disappointment permanent stallholders are encouraged and expected to provide routine updates of their contact details for the purpose of correspondence with the Belmont Market. Permanent stallholders are generally contacted in writing via email relating to permanent stallholders and their sites. The Belmont Market will not be held liable or responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate contact details listed in its bookings system. The Belmont Market and the City will not accept comments or criticism from permanent stallholders who fail to receive correspondence from the Belmont Market due to incorrect or inaccurate contact details.
- Stallholders are subject to the Stallholder Code of Conduct as listed in our Belmont Market Terms and Conditions. The Belmont Market and the City will not accept and tolerate any unaccepted behaviours that is inconsistent with the Stallholder Code of Conduct. This may include but not limited to; unaccepted behaviours such as unwarranted unjustified or unsubstantiated criticism or comments verbally or in writing via email and/or published on social media.
- Stallholders who wish to apply to become a permanent stallholder may contact via email to belmontmarket@geelongcity.vic.gov.au and enquire however they are subject to meeting certain requirements. These requirements are at the discretion of the Belmont Market. One of these requirements includes stallholder’s commitment to booking and consecutive attendance as a casual stallholder over a period of time. The Belmont Market and City of Greater Geelong is under no obligation to issue and grant a licence and sites to stallholders.
