These exceptions are:
- Easter Sunday
- the festive period between 24 December and 2 January each year and
- public holidays that fall on a Sunday such as ANZAC Day.
| 5:00am to 8:00am: | ‘Bump In’ Stallholders may arrive begin their set up. |
| 8:00am to 1:00pm: | ‘Trading Hours’ The market is in full operation. |
| 1:00pm to 2:30pm: | ‘Bump Out’ Stallholders must pack up and vacate the market site. |
Bump-in and bump-out (stallholder)
Bump-in
- Stallholders may arrive at any time provided that it is between 5:00am and 8:00am. Stallholders can access the venue via the entrance at Barwon Heads Road. Only permitted stallholders are granted access to the Belmont Market site.
- The outside section of the market is open to traffic prior to 8:00am to assist with the set-up of stalls. No vehicle access will be granted after 8:00am.
- There is to be no trading of any kind during bump-in.
Bump-out
- The outside section of the market is open to traffic after 1:00pm to assist with the pack up of stalls. Vehicles may not exceed 5 kilometres per hour during this period of time and where instructed must comply with any directions given to them by market staff or the event safety officer.
- Before vacating the stall site stallholders must remove all rubbish and do all that is possible to leave the stall site in the same condition that it was in before they set up their site. Stallholders are reminded they not permitted to use the rubbish bins or skip bins on site at Barwon Valley Activity Centre for any reason.
- Stallholders wishing to pack up and leave prior to the closing time of 1:00pm are free to do so however driving or moving a motor vehicle within the market grounds is not permitted during operational hours for public safety reasons and any stock or equipment must be moved off-site is a safe manner and ensure that they present no risk to other stallholders or members of the public.
Vehicle movement
Vehicles movement is permitted in the outdoor section of the Belmont Market only during bump-in and bump-out designated times. Vehicle movement may not exceed 5 kilometres per hour during this period of time must have hazards on and where instructed must comply with directions given to them by market staff.
During trading hours (8:00am to 1:00pm) the site will be locked thus restricting access/exit from the Belmont Market site. No vehicle is permitted for move within the market after 8:00am and prior to 1:00pm for public safety reasons (emergency services vehicles accepted).
Early exiting of the market site is only permitted if it is safe enough to do so at the discretion of market staff. Early exiting will only be considered if there is clear vehicle movement pathways or the market is cancelled due to weather and other disruptions. Attempting to gain vehicle access or vehicle early exit without prior approval from market staff could see the stallholder banned from future markets.
It is recommended if a stallholder(s) wants to leave the market early or they need to come and go throughout the day they unload their car and park it outside of the defined market site event area in one of the many free off street car spaces we have available surrounding the market. If parking in surrounding streets stallholders and patrons attending the market must comply with the parking regulations of the City of Greater Geelong (the City).
