Request property address change
If your property is on a corner it may have been allocated an alternative address to the adjoining roadway.

To enable us to determine if your property can be changed your request must:

  1. be in writing stating:
  • your name and contact details
  • the current property address
  • the proposed property address.
  • include a copy of your house plan showing the entrance and access points off the adjoining roadway
  • submit this application to: propertycustomerdata@geelongcity.vic.gov.au or Property Officer PO Box 104 GEELONG VIC 3220.
  • You will receive a response in the mail within 5 business days regarding your application.

    • A property is allocated a street identification number for every 20 metres of land frontage to a roadway.   If your property frontage measures more than 20 metres  it will be allocated two (or more) street identification numbers.   While your official address will include the full range of numbers you may display any of the street numbers in your range at the front of the property.  An example is if your property was 2-10 Smith Way you could display 2 4 6 8 or 10 at the front of your property.
