It applies to all 2P (2-hour) parking zones in the CBD.
When you pay for one hour of parking and the system will automatically provide you with one additional hour of parking for free.
If you pay for less than one hour of parking you will not receive the additional free hour.
This offer is only valid in 2P parking zones within central Geelong.
The existing 15-minute grace period will continue providing motorists an extra 15 minutes after the paid expiry period to move their vehicle or top up their stay.
The ‘Buy 1 hour get 1 free’ parking initiative only applies to 2P ticketed areas in order to encourage visitors increase short-term visits and encourage visitors to stay an additional hour.
It is anticipated that this will result in increased economic activity as visitors make the most of their free second hour of parking.

Disabled parking permit holders
Disabled parking permit holders who pay for one hour in an ordinary 2P parking bay will be automatically entitled to a total parking time of four hours.
This is as per current disabled parking permit conditions which allow disabled parking permit holders to park in any ordinary parking bay for twice as long as the time displayed on the parking sign.
Weekend parking
Parking on weekends is free.
Previous parking trial
The new ‘buy one hour get one free’ CBD parking initiative has replaced the free 30 minutes in 2P parking zones previously trialled by Council.
