We have a number of local laws in our municipality.
Drones and/or remotely piloted aircraft
Our Neighbourhood Amenity Local Law 2014 requires that you obtain a permit to fly a drone or any remotely piloted aircraft within a municipal reserve.

Liquor licensing
Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation issues all Liquor Licences.
    Children's crossings
    Stopping or parking your vehicle too close to a children's crossing may mean that a child entering the crossing can’t see or be seen by an approaching car.
    Disabled parking bays
    You must display a valid and current permit to use one of these bays.
    Loading zones
    Loading zones are provided to allow the pick up or delivery of loads or people close to their destination. They are not provided for short term parking.
    No stopping versus no parking
    It's important to understand the difference between the signage for these two situations.
    Painted yellow edge lines
    If you fail to obey the requirements for continuous or broken yellow edge lines when parking, you will receive an infringement.
    Parking for too long
    Time limits are set on parking spaces to allow as many people as possible to have access to an area.

Local laws are advertised for public comment and must be approved by our councillors before they can take effect.

We currently have the following local laws:

    Charity collections
    You need our approval for all fundraising including door to door, roadside intersection collections. Further approval is required from Victoria Police for roadside and intersection collections.

The City is committed to driving improvements in the construction industry’s management of waste on building site.
