Land information certificates (LICs)
This certificate tells you about the property that you are purchasing so that when you become the owner, all rates and charges are paid on settlement.
Anyone can apply for a LIC although usually it is your solicitor or conveyancer who does this for you. Privacy Act requirements may apply.
The cost to obtain a LIC for 2022-2023 financial year is $27.80.

Applications can be made online or by completing a hard copy application.
Information on your certificate
The LIC will show:
- all current valuations on the property including Site Value Capital Improved Value and the Net Annual Value
- rates including arrears and interest
- land declared prone to flooding
- property debts.
Property ownership
Property owners have responsibilities in relation to rates and charges and other activities.
