    Enquiry by Design
    The City hosted three 'Enquiry by Design' workshops on 22 November 2017 to assist the development of a draft future urban structure plan.
    Future Urban Structure Plan
    The draft future urban structure plan provides high-level guidance in relation to proposed land use and development.
    G21 Regional Growth Plan
    The growth areas were identified in 2013 in partnership with the Victorian Government.
    Geelong's growth
    The Northern and Western Geelong growth areas constitute the largest greenfield planning project in regional Victoria with a combined future population of approximately 110,000 new Geelong residents.

    We (the City) will deliver the Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas project with the support and collaboration of our stakeholders including technical experts, government agencies, service authorities, landholders, the private sector and the Geelong community.

    There are four stages in the Growth Area Planning Process.
    Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas Strategic Assessment

    The Geelong Growth Areas Strategic Assessment agreement was signed in January 2022. 

    The vision
    Vision and principles workshops were held in July 2017 inviting key project stakeholders and landowners to assist the City to establish vision statements and a set of principles that will guide the framework plan process.
