Engineering permits
We have several permits that must be obtained prior to
commencing any works within our infrastructure.
Engineering permits are required prior to commencing works to enable our inspectors to ascertain:
- what works are being undertaken within our municipality
- when works are scheduled to be undertaken and
- who is undertaking the works.
We issue the following permits and reports:
- Asset protection permit – required prior to any building works being undertaken to ensure no damage occurs to our infrastructure.
- Vehicle crossing permit – required prior to any changes being made to an existing vehicle crossing i.e. widening relocation or construction of a new vehicle crossing.
- Works within road reserve permit – required prior to any works being undertaken which affects our road-based infrastructure
- Consent for Work Within Roads Reserves (aka Utilities Application for Consent) – required where the work area is over 8.5 square metres.
- Legal point of discharge (LPOD) – provides information on where your property is to legally discharge into Councils drainage system.
- Inspections of engineering works – You may have conditions relating to your Planning Permit that require inspection.
