Types of food and beverage permits
You may require food or beverage permits when holding an event.
There are two types of permits:
- Temporary Food Registration Permit
- Consumption Permit.
Each of these are supported by the Notification Process.
Note: It doesn’t matter if the food is sold or given away; a permit or notification is still required depending on the types of food listed below.

Note on Consumption of Alcohol Permits
There have been some changes to the City of Greater Geelong Local Law Procedure Manual which may impact whether you need a Consumption of Alcohol permit or not depending on the Events Alcohol Management Plan.
Your Events Officer will provide you with more advice when you make application for an Events Permit.
