Willem Baa Niip 'King Billy' mural – NAIDOC Week online trail
81 Dennys Place, off Little Malop Street, Central Geelong

This mural artwork of Willem Baa Niip was created by Cam Scale and launched in August 2014.

Willem Baa Niip was a prominent male Wadawurrung figure in Geelong and district. Wadawurrung people didn’t require written birth certificates. Their name was their identity story of birth place connection and belonging. Willem Baa Niip was named by his father who believed he saw a Bunyip when hunting at Jerringot the morning Willem Baa Niip was born – Willem meaning home and Bunyip meaning a mythical creature.
