Wheelchair accessible taxis
Geelong Taxi Network has 30 wheelchair accessible taxis that cover Geelong, Torquay and the Bellarine Peninsula.
Most of the taxis carry 2 wheelchairs.
The driver assists passengers who use a wheelchair to access the cab via a ramp or soft hydraulic lift.
Passengers travel in their wheelchair which is secured to the vehicles floor.
Taxi bookings and fees
It is preferable to book the trip in advance leaving a contact number with the operator when booking.
Clients should give clear directions about the pick up point. Allow ample time for travel particularly during high demand periods.
The cost is the same as other taxis. VTD M50 (wheelchair) cards are accepted for half price fares.
Airport bookings
Taxis need to be booked ahead for the airport.
For bookings and information phone Geelong Maxi Taxis on 03 5278 5785 or visit the Geelong Maxi Taxis website.
Waterfront beach wheelchairs
There is a beach wheelchair available for use in summer at the Geelong Waterfront, free of charge to people with limited mobility.
Handling and storage of fuel at events
You must comply with the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and other relevant Australian Standards for handling and storing fuel at your event.
