We are responsible for managing the water used in providing and maintaining public assets like golf courses, sporting grounds, public open spaces, gardens and trees.
    Water carters
    Water carters are required to be registered under the Food Act 1984.
    Water monitoring
    Water used in irrigation is constantly monitored and managed using industry 'best practice' water management principles.
    Water standpipe permits
    Rural and residential properties within our municipality who do not have access to reticulated water through Barwon Water may apply for standpipe permits.

Interesting fact

An average irrigation cycle for a football oval in summer takes about 150 000 litres of water.

Over summer we may need to irrigate the oval three times a week – thats 450 000 litres of water per week for the 70 ovals we are regularly irrigating.
